Yes. The engine, SDKs, MCP server, and dashboard are MIT-licensed open source — self-host everything with no limits, forever. The hosted cloud also has a real free tier: 1,000 authorize calls/month, no credit card required.
Do I need an account?
No, for local/self-hosted — run npx -y lelu-mcp start and accept any API key you choose at startup, nothing to sign up for. Yes, for the hosted cloud dashboard and cloud API keys — create a free account to get started.
What happens if I go over the free cloud quota?
Requests beyond the free tier's monthly limit are declined with a clear quota error — nothing bills automatically. Upgrade to a paid plan for a much higher quota.
How do I upgrade to a paid cloud plan?
Sign in and click "Upgrade" on the Cloud plan — it opens a secure Stripe checkout for $19/mo, no manual approval needed. That raises your quota to 100,000 authorize calls/month. Cancel anytime from the billing portal.
